Once again, we have two meetings this week for your viewing pleasure. The first one shown above is the Town Council Meeting from Monday, 5/20/24 which includes the appointment of the Mayor Pro Tem which is….drumroll please…Alderman David Dryden. Mayor Swaner and our new Mayor Pro Tem were given the power to sign financial documents as well. Also, there was a discussion about keeping the inner foyer door locked at town hall during normal business hours. The reason for this is to keep our staff safe since there is typically only one person on the premises. Those with scheduled meetings or with requests that require the use of more of the facility will be permitted to go past the foyer on a case by case basis, all other business will take place in the foyer (which has always been the case from my personal experience).
Next on tap, we have Tuesday’s PnZ meeting which was a discussion on parking ordinances. The consensus seemed to be to keep the parking ratio of 3 seats per 1 parking spot to be the same. There was also a discussion about adding ordinances related to Airbnb type rentals. Evidently, there have been complaints about some houses on the lake with respect to these types of rentals.
Want to try your hand at town politics, but don’t want to deal with those pesky elections? Well, now is your chance. Uncle Paul wants YOU to apply for our open Alderman and PnZ Seats. While the town has yet to post the openings on the website, your best bet would be to email Mayor Swaner or an Alderman if you are interested.
